Kate's parents gave her a practical education. Kate died from pneumonia on 4-3-1939, aged 77yr. 5mo. 4da. Kate was the eldest in her family.
**Pall-Item 4-4-1939 Tues. - Mrs. Catherine Toschlag, 77 yrs. old, widow of Joseph Toschlag and daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Weiss, early Wayne Co. residents, died Monday night of pneumonia, at her home, 299 South 4th St. Mrs. Toschlag's death came unexpectedly. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, but lived here for sometime. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, and the Poor Soul's society. Funeral announcements will be announced later. Survivors are three sons, Edward, George and Harry; two daughters Mrs. Robert Mitchell and Miss Rosella Toschlag, both of Richmond; two sisters, Mrs. John Baumer, and Mrs. Carrie Habing, and 12 grandchildren.
**4-5-1939 Edition - Services for Catherine Toschlag will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at her home, 229 So. 4th St. with Rev. Fr. Leo Schellenberger officiating.
Catherine married Joseph Herman Toschlag, son of Bernard Bennett Toschlag and Margaret Adaleida Bussen, on 1 Mar 1881 in St. Andrew's, Richmond, IN. (Joseph Herman Toschlag was born on 22 Apr 1858 in Wayne County, IN, died on 30 Nov 1913 and was buried in St. Andrew's Cemetary, Richmond, IN.)
