Daniel Crowe

  General Notes:

Daniel and Elizabeth came to Indiana from North Carolina in early life and for a time Daniel worked for David Commons. At the time of his arrival in Wayne Co., ther father (Daniel) had but $2.50 in money and this he spent for a pair of shoes. The journey from the old stste was made in a cart, and sometime later he traded a horse and harness for a tract of land, which he added to until he possessed 120 acres. He harvected his crops with old reap hooks, but later cradels were invented. The father died in the fall of 1876, and the mother (Elizabeth) died in the spring of the same year. Both were members of the Christian Church. They were the parents of 13 children. Jacob and Ashford resided in Centre Twp.

Daniel married Elizabeth Cranford. (Elizabeth Cranford was born in North Carolina and died in 1876.)
